Health Camp Yeti Nepal

Yeti Free Health Campaign-2024

Yeti Nepali Association UK recently organised a comprehensive health camp at the Sports and Social Club in South Harrow, London, from 11 AM to 4 PM, with hundreds of elderly and vulnerable adults participating in the campaign.

The health camp provided a wide range of services, including blood pressure monitoring, diabetes testing (blood), physical health check-ups, health awareness sessions, and advice and guidance on chronic diseases. In addition, counselling was offered on social care provisions and rights for elderly and vulnerable individuals in the UK.

The camp was coordinated by Senior Specialist Nurse Sushma Poudel Bhattarai, who also serves as the Social Secretary of Yeti Nepali Association and the Free Health Camp 2024. The event saw the active involvement of around five doctors, an equal number of specialist nurses, and over 15 volunteers from the organisation, all contributing to the preparation and management of the camp.

The Yeti Association organised this free health camp as part of its commitment to providing essential health services and support to vulnerable communities living in Harrow, Wembley, Hayes, Hounslow, Feltham, and other nearby areas, with a special focus on the elderly.

Recognising the challenges such as language barriers, hesitation, and other factors that have prevented many elderly individuals from seeking medical advice in the past, the camp offered consultation services from professionals in their native languages. This approach made the experience more accessible and comfortable for those who attended.

The financial support for the health camp was generously provided by HTR Care, Maya Supported Living, Hampstead Ear Care, Newa Chhe Maya, and Deurali Travels.

Looking ahead, Yeti Nepali Association UK is committed to organising several similar campaigns in the future to continue supporting the health and well-being of our community.
